Since 2015, I have participated in Inktober, an insanely fun community “event” where artists create and post a drawing a day for the entire month of October. So far I’ve focused on portraits of musicians, telling different stories of their influences in my life. It is absolutely one of my favorite things to do, and I look forward to it every year. For this year’s series, I did musicians in horror films, inspired by their roles in those films, or how their music was used. Particularly fun for me were Paul Williams in Phantom of the Paradise and Huey Lewis for his music’s role in American Psycho.
